Library & Technology Resources
Library
BFA's primary print and periodical holdings are located in the Media Center
in the Senior House (Clifton Road facility). The Media Center was constructed
in 1995, and, since then, BFA has significantly upgraded its technology resources.
Currently, we have about 4,000 print titles, complemented by subscriptions
to approximately 30 periodicals. Our primary focus, however, is to provide
our students with alternative means of completing their assignments based upon
their individual needs. Accordingly, we have invested heavily in instructional
audio and videotapes, as well as interactive CD-ROMs for teaching a full range
of academic subjects. Students are expected to conduct research utilizing traditional
bibliographic sources as well as on-line resources.
Technology Resources
BFA students have unlimited access to our computer and internet resources.
There is no separate computer lab. We have both Macintosh and PC-compatible
computers in both buildings, available at
all times for student use. In addition, we have several viewing stations in
both houses where students can view videotapes. We also have made provision
for advanced accommodations for our most handicapped students through the addition
of a height-adjustable workstation, a graphics monitor and voice-to-print software.
BFA is connected to Emory University's Ethernet network via a T1 fiber optic
link, which gives us exceptionally fast access to the Internet and its myriad
resources. Upgrading and expanding
our technology resources is a continuing high priority of the school.
