Young entrepreneurs and students interested in pursuing business careers have a unique opportunity at BFA to learn material and take courses not usually available to high school students. Our program includes classes in Entrepreneurship, Accounting 1 and 2, Business Essentials, Economics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Microeconomic. Course content often includes material from undergraduate and professional business programs. Our experienced faculty hold business degrees, law degrees, have passed the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and other professional exams, and some are entrepreneurs themselves. Most importantly, they are adept at helping students reach their goals in business education and provide support for their entrepreneurial ventures.
In recent years, organizations founded by Ben Franklin Academy students have included a tutoring company, a socially responsible jewelry importing business, a line of healthy energy bars, gardening and landscaping businesses, and an orphanage in South Africa. Students also regularly work free-lance as sports and music instructors and have interned or work-shadowed at established law and accounting firms.
