Ben Franklin Academy offers a variety of electives in the visual arts. Our 2-D courses include opportunies in drawing, painting, and printmaking; students may explore ceramics, sculpture, jewelry-making, bookmaking, and fiber arts in one of our 3-D classes; and our photography students have the option of delving into traditional darkroom techniques or digital photography studies.
Two campus art galleries offer space for ongoing student exhibitions, and there is an additional art show each spring that showcases student work. Fieldtrips to Atlanta musuems and in-house workshops with local artists offer breadth to our students' art experiences. Faculty are available to assist students in artwork selection for local exhibitions and in the development of individual portfolios for college admission. Student artwork may be seen in the slideshow below.
