Cross Country Season - Fall

The Ben Franklin Academy Cross Country Running season begins in August and ends in December. Practices, team meets, and team gatherings are crucial for a successful season. The season has been designed to give the student runner a complete team running experience that includes competitive and social events that build team and leadership skills.

The practices are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:15-6:00 PM. Practices, meets and team gatherings are required. Excused absences must be approved ahead of time by the coach.

Try Outs?

There are no try outs for the BFA Cross Country team. Ben Franklin Academy has a no-cut policy. Students begin the program at their current fitness level and work through personal and team goals as the season progresses.

Team Meet Schedule

The Ben Franklin Academy Cross Country Team participates in a season of approved Georgia High School Association meets, tournaments, Region and State Championships.

Work-Study Credit

Students participating in the Cross Country Running Season receive 150 hours and 15 weeks of work-study credit, which satisfies their work-study requirement for the semester. Absences from practices, team meets, and team gatherings will result in deductions of hours and weeks from the work-study total.

Transportation

Ben Franklin Academy does not provide student transportation to and from the meets and team gatherings. Parents will need to shuttle their student athletes back and forth from home to a meet or team gathering. Student athletes and parents may carpool with other student athletes and parents.
