For our history students and teacher Jan Bedol, celebrating the signing of the U.S. Constitution is a major holiday at Ben Franklin. On Friday, September 18th students studied the history of the U.S. Constitution. Each student received their own pocket U.S. Constitution as discussion took place of the 4 month long meeting of the founding fathers. Foods from the colonial period in Georgia were in abundance including biscuits and honey, apple cake, home-baked bread and watermelon. The students wrote with quill pens and ink and played a game of battledore which is much like badminton with a wooden paddle and birdie.
