Athletics Program
We compete in the A classification of the Georgia High School Association, playing primarily other small private schools in the Atlanta area. Currently, we have programs for basketball, golf, intramural soccer, tennis, cross-country, and track and field.
2007-2008Fall Athletic Schedules 2007Cross Country Running - Fall 2007
The meet schedule is TBA. Students will need appropriate running shoes and appropriate, lightweight, running clothing for practices. An athletic watch (ie Nike, Timex, etc.) that has an interval timer of at least 2-5 intervals will also help with daily training. Spring Athletic Schedules 2008Running Program/Track and FieldThe BFA Spring Running Program/Track and Field meets once a week in March and April. Track and Field Meets: Atlanta Track Club All-Comers Track and Field meets are at Emory University’s Athletic Field. For more information see www.atlantatrackclub.org. Students will need appropriate running shoes and appropriate, lightweight, running clothing. Track shoes are allowed by the ATC for meets, but not required. Spring TennisBFA Tennis meets once a week March - May. Location:
BFA tennis is a great program for players of varying skill levels. Students can learn the fundamentals of tennis while competing against other seasoned players in singles and doubles matches. Students will need tennis shoes for outdoor courts, a tennis racquet, and appropriate, lightweight, tennis clothing. Spring GolfJames Watson The BFA Golf Team won 8th Overall Statewide in 2005 and were Region Champs in 2005. The BFA Golf Team season culminates with the students participating in the Region Tournament in April (TBA). Fortnightly golf coaching will be offered starting January, Wednesday 16, from 4:00 – 5:15 PM at the "Grand Slam Golf Range," located on North Druid Hills Road (directions below). All students are welcome to participate and no experience or equipment is required. However, please bring the following (if you have them): Golf clubs; Golf gloves; BFA golf team shirts; Golf shoes; and any other suitable golfing attire or equipment. BFA will provide range balls and rental clubs are available from the range at no extra cost. Please bring money for refreshments or extra range balls as desired.
